My name is Dalia Kyle and I am a designer and the owner of Designs by Dalia & E. E stands for my dearest friend who helped me a lot in creating my handbags.
Originally I am from Lithuania where I started my carrier as a violinist in 1984. Suddenly, after 10 years of musical education I switched to visual arts in 1999 before I was accepted to The Academy of Fine Arts in 2000. I really enjoyed studying stained glass for a couple years, which still makes big influence on my artwork. Few years later I moved to the US transferring to the University of Southern Maine. It was very interesting to experience different kind of training which gave me more options and one of them was sewing. I started experimenting with fabrics and threads for my design classes getting lots of attention and positive feedback from my teachers and classmates. In 2007 I transferred to Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design to get better artistic education where I still study painting. I try to incorporate paint and embroidery on my canvasses to create something different. My hobby of sewing took over one day when I finally quit looking for that perfect handbag for myself and decided to make one instead. Recognition and compliments kept me on sewing and creating more complicated designs and daring color combinations. Each handbag is a unique artwork because I never use any blueprints or sketches; I work on the go using different kinds of fabric, ribbons and metallic thread letting me create that painting-like look drawing everyones attention. It takes 4-5 hours to create one bag which could be a centerpiece of any casual or formal style. I want to bring some colorful elegance to every womans apparel adding a playful but functional accessory. I plan to expand my store in the near future adding more styles as well as different art items: tablecloths, postcards, maybe even some womens clothing. Dear Ladies, it is never too late to freshen up your style!
